Floaters is inspired by those pesky little spots and disruptions of vision that appear after a flash of bright light. While light is a real physical part of our world, floaters are perceived — visual illusions created by our fragile eyes and the brain. The piece explores this idea through the musical interaction of growth, harsh attacks, reverberance, and decay between acoustic (“real") and synthetic (“perceived”) sounds. Enjoy!
